Before starting Valley by Owner, we bought our family home, simply by chance, from the owner. We recognized how hard it is to get For Sale By Owner homes advertised for reasonable fees. This experience inspired us to help other home owners, like you, to effectively advertise their properties with absolutely no commissions involved....
We moved back to Northeast Wisconsin in July 1999. We had been experiencing a frustrating house search as we embarked on our move. As a buyer, we wished for a quick and easy way to check for homes in our price range. Wouldn't it be great to see some pictures of the home and have a way to know if the property was going to really be available to view during the upcoming weekend? The Internet seemed like it might provide a tool for this type of house hunting, but we had not come across a web site which could help us.
One weekend, as we randomly drove through neighborhoods house hunting, we happened upon an open house for our current home.
In retrospect, we feel very lucky that we found our beautiful For Sale by Owner home, simply by chance.
After visiting with the former owners of our home, we realized it was very difficult for people to get For Sale By Owner homes recognized, for reasonable advertising fees. This experience inspired us to start a web site that would help individuals effectively market their For Sale By Owner properties. We learned about computers and created ValleyByOwner.com and have sinced added another URL, BadgerByOwner.com.
